Jack’s father shivered, the air had abruptly turned cooler. The sun disappeared behind a thickening band of cloud, and the summer seemed to go with it. He looked up: Jack wasn’t at the gravestone. He stood quickly, searching in every direction at once. His stomach lurched as he realised with a sinking dread that he was completely alone.
